HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED FOR MY ANIMALS?
For small animals such as goats and pigs, 2 may suffice. For larger animals such as horses and cows, a minimum of 4 is suggested. You'll want to consider the amount of scratching area that your animal(s) may require.
CAN HUMANS USE THEM?
YES! They make amazing back scratchers! We recommend the soft touch pads but if you like the "fingernail" approach to scratching, you may want to consider the harder one.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE MILK “SOFT TOUCH” COMPARED TO THE REGULAR PRODUCT?
This Soft Touch pad (available only in Milk) will offer one of the world’s most satisfying and gentle scratches. It is only recommended for large animals with sensitive skin or for small animals. Apply it over a corner at the proper height for “that itchy spot” or mount it flat on the wall. People are LOVING it!. With the ScratchnAll, just back up to the wall, move back and forth or up and down and exert as much pressure as desired. Great for every man and woman. It is a wonderful tool for arthritics and amputees whose physical challenges make it very difficult to scratch
CAN I PUT THESE ONTO METAL?
Yes, you can. You will want to use self-tapping screws instead of the screws that come with your order. Another way to mount them is to put 4 or more on a board, drill holes in 4 corners and use the self-tapping screws OR mount the board by using cable ties.
I BOARD MY HORSE SO WHAT IF THE OWNER OBJECTS TO SO MANY HOLES?
Each pad has 4 holes. You can mount 4+ pads on a board and then mount the board to the wall. This will only require a total of 4 holes rather than 16.
HOW CAN I GET MY DOG OR CAT USED TO THE PRODUCT?
For cats and dogs you may want to simply rub the animal gently so that it gets used to the feel. After that, FOR THE CAT, you can sprinkle flakes of catnip onto the pad OR put catnip in a spray bottle with warm water and spray it onto the pad a day later. FOR THE DOG, you can put a couple pads (2 or more depending on the size), onto a board using the hardware. Then place it either in your home or outside. FIRST we suggest putting the dog on its back on top of the board and wiggling the dog. ALERT: The screws you receive are 1” long. If you mount these onto a board be certain the board is thick enough so that the tips of the screws do not come through the bottom or the board OR you can simply use shorter screws to avoid this issue.
